About Us
BreadRoot Farm is the venture of two mature farmers with a vision of building a land-centered community on a Saskatchewan farm. Al Boyko and Hélène Tremblay-Boyko began grain farming in the Tadmore area in 1989 when they returned from Alberta to Al's home farm. They became certified organic in 2000, acquired pastureland in 2007, and began custom grazing beef cattle in 2008. Currently, they own a small herd of certified organic beef cattle, bred for finishing on grass.

Al and Hélène embrace the possibility of partnering/mentoring with other aspiring farmers to turn their vision into reality as they build BreadRoot Farm: wholesome food from prairie roots.

Practices
We grow certified organic grain & we raise certified organic beef cattle using Holistic Management strategies and Animal Welfare Approved high welfare methods of farming

We use sustainable methods of production that increase bio-diversity and fertility, protect wildlife and wetlands

We integrate livestock into the grain & vegetable operation to create a sustainable cycle of nutrients from soil to grain to livestock and back to soil.

(Please note: although our livestock are certified organic, we currently have no access to certified organic meat cutting or processing facilities.)
